What Dallas Picks collects, who processes it and the privacy rights available to you under California, Texas and other US state laws.
Key points
Dallas Picks (dallaspicks.com) shows no advertising and runs no AdSense. Readers are not tracked with cookies. We do not sell personal information, and we do not disclose it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Categories of information
Identifiers and internet activity: IP address, browser type and pages requested, logged by our host for security. Communications: the email address and content of messages you send. Business account data: sign-in email, listing edits and, when a plan is bought, billing details.
Sources and purposes
This information comes directly from you or your browser. It is used to run and secure the site, answer messages, manage claimed listings and subscriptions, and comply with tax law.
Cookies, analytics and spam protection
Browsing the rankings sets no cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics gives us aggregate visit numbers without cookies or fingerprinting. The “For businesses” area uses one session cookie for sign-in, and Cloudflare Turnstile checks its forms for bots.
Processors
Cloudflare (hosting, security, analytics, email), Stripe (subscription billing; card data stays with Stripe), OpenFreeMap (map tiles requested by your browser) and Google Maps (when an owner searches for their business to request a listing).
Retention
Security logs expire quickly. We hold on to emails while they are relevant. Business accounts stay as long as they are in use; billing records, for whatever period tax rules demand.
California rights
Californians have, under the CCPA as the CPRA amended it, a right to know, correct and delete personal information, to say no to any sale or sharing of it, and to limit the use of sensitive data. We sell and share none, and process no sensitive personal information. An authorized agent may act for you, and exercising a right never means worse treatment.
Texas residents and other states
Texas’s TDPSA, in force since July 2024, gives Texans the right to access, correct, delete and port their data and to appeal a refusal; Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and other states offer similar rights. We honor them for everyone. Send requests and appeals to info@dallaspicks.com; we respond within 45 days.
Children
Dallas Picks is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
